ABOUT ME

My name is Tek Man Shakya. I am a professional journalist and fact-checker from Nepal with extensive experience across radio, television, and digital media. I have been actively working in journalism since 2009 A.D. (2066 B.S.), beginning my career in radio journalism and gradually expanding into television and online journalism.

Currently, I am affiliated with Nepal FactCheck.org as a fact-checker, where I work to verify information, counter misinformation, and promote accuracy and credibility in the media. Fact-based reporting, ethical journalism, and public accountability are central to my professional values.

Over the years, I have gained hands-on experience in news reporting, editing, program production, broadcasting, and digital journalism. My work spans breaking news, investigative reporting, current affairs programs, and online news content. Having worked in both national and local media outlets, I possess a strong understanding of Nepal’s media landscape and audience needs.

At present, I serve as the Executive Editor of NepaleseTimes.com, where I oversee news content, editorial standards, and digital publishing. I am actively involved in shaping editorial policy, mentoring journalists, and ensuring that published content meets professional and ethical standards.

With a strong foundation in traditional media and a growing focus on digital platforms, I am currently engaged in online journalism and video-based content creation. I aim to deliver reliable, fact-checked, and impactful journalism through digital storytelling, helping audiences make informed decisions in an era of information overload.

I am particularly interested in developing news explainers, fact-check videos, media literacy content, and investigative stories that contribute to a more informed and responsible society.

टेकमान शाक्य माघ ८, २०८२ ।  झापाको प्रतिनिधिसभा सदस्य निर्वाचन क्षेत्र नम्बर ५ का लागि राष्ट्रिय स्वतन्त्र पार्टीका उम्मेदवार बालेन शाह आक्रोशित हुँदै गरेको एउटा भिडियो सामाजिक सञ्जालमा भाइरल भइरहेको छ। कतिपयले भाइरल भिडियो वास्तविक नभई एआई जेनेरेटेड (एआईले बनाएको) भनिरहेका छन्। तर हाम्रो तथ्यजाँचले भाइरल भिडिओ एआईबाट नबनाइएको देखिएको छ भने बालेन सचिवालयले पनि सो भिडियो वास्तविक भएको पुष्टि गर्दै निर्वाचन आचारसंहिता उल्लंघन हुने डरले बालेन आफैले रास्वपाका कार्यकर्ता एवम् समर्थकलाई सजग गराएर भीड नियन्त्रण गर्न खोजेको दाबी गरेको छ। के हो दाबी ? ७ लाख ४२ हजार फलोअर्स भएको ‘पाथिभरा न्यूज’ नामक फेसबुक पेजले झापामा बालेनले रिसाउँदै जनता थर्काउँदै गरेको दाबीसहित भिडियो सार्वजनिक गरेको छ । यो तथ्य जाँचको समयसम्ममा भिडिओले ९५७ लाइक, २९८ कमेन्ट,  ८३ सेयर र ७६ हजार भ्युज पाएको छ । हेर्नुहोस् पाथिभर न्यूज नामक फेसबुक पेजले सार्वजनिक गरेको भिडिओको स्क्रिन रेकर्ड यो भिडियोमा ‘मेरो सूचना’ नामक फेसबुक पेजको लोगो देखिन्छ । ‘मेरो सूचना’ नामक फेसबुक पेजमा गएर हेर्दा भने हामीले यो भिडियो देखेनौँ।...
